2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo S
The seventh model of the Panamera has been unveiled the most powerful of all its predecessors. The Turbo S is the most powerful and most expensive of course at a suggested price of $173,000. The car will make it's first appearance at the NY Auto Show on April 20th, 2011. The improvements added are very impressive, the Turbo S is equipped with a 4.8 liter, V8 biturbo engine delivering an impressive 550HP, 50HP more than the previous version. The car can comfortably go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.6s and can reach a top speed of 305km/h.
The exterior and the interior of the car had some changes. You can distinguish the new Panamera form the addition of new 20-inch Turbo II wheels with increased rear axle track width, and the adaptive extending four-way rear spoiler matching the exterior color. On the interior, the model will get a bi-color leather finish, fitted as standard, with a black/cream offered exclusively for the new Panamera Turbo S. In addition to these changes the more powerful engine might seem to some like a turn off based on the fuel efficiency but Turbo S delivers the same fuel consumption as the Panamera Turbo. The way they were able to do that is by using improved turbocharge with titanium-aluminum wheels and modified engine control. The titanium-aluminum allows them to reduce the weight of the turbine and compressor wheel. Porche introduced these changes in order to compete and surpass the recently launched Mercedes CLS63 AMG which now seems limited since it delivers only 519HP and a 0 to 100 sprint in 4.3s and a top speed of 250km/h.
